EvadX land at Heathrow
6th March 2013
EvadX were selected by Siemens to undertake a £3 million plus contract for the installation of approximately 700 tonnes of steel to support the Baggage Handling System on the new build Terminal 2A.
Added to this package we also installed the Mezzanine Floor, Handrails and in excess of 100 staircases for the Arrivals and Departure areas of the new Terminal. The Mezzanine floor was mainly installed by suspending the flooring from Hangars connected to the underside of the main frame steelwork.
Evadx commenced work on 26 October 2011 and achieved completion of the main build on 12 November 2012.
The terminal has a budget of £2.5 billion and is due to open in 2014.
Ciaron Creamer, Project Manager for Siemens was very pleased with the effort put in by the EvadX team and commented “The safety, quality and installation of our steel was the best he had seen in 30 years in the business.” A comment which was endorsed by members of BAA.
